Switching questions
- What does switching cost?
- Nothing on Yard and Branches: we map your import with you for free. On Counter you can do it yourself with the templates, or pay $149 for us to do it (AED 549 in the UAE, Rs 9,000 in Pakistan).
- Which systems can I switch from?
- Anything that exports to CSV or Excel: Square, Lightspeed, Clover, Shopify, Paladin, Epicor Eagle, QuickBooks item lists, or a spreadsheet you keep yourself.
- How long does it take?
- Mapping a clean export takes an hour or two; importing takes minutes per batch. Most stores run side by side for a week and switch on a quiet day.
- Will contractor balances come across?
- Yes, as opening balances on each customer, along with credit limits and pay terms. Check the totals against your old aged-debtors report before going live.
- What about my sales history?
- Keep an export or PDF reports from the old system for history and tax. The new system starts its own history from day one.
- Can I switch in the middle of the busy season?
- You can, but we advise a quiet week. If you must, import and label in the evenings and switch on a Sunday or public holiday.
- Do I need new hardware?
- Usually not. Most receipt printers, USB scanners and cash drawers keep working. See the hardware guide.
- What if something does not import?
- The importer reports errors by row. Fix the sheet and re-import; on assisted plans we fix it with you.
