Hardware store card payments, cash and account charges on one till
Payments at a hardware counter mix cash, cards, cheques and charges to a contractor account, often on one sale. Hardware Store POS records every tender, splits a sale across several, adds custom methods such as JazzCash or Easypaisa, and reconciles each register at close. Card payments run through your own processor.

!The problem
What a hardware till has to handle
- 1Large tickets paid partly in cash, partly by card and partly on account.
- 2Deposits on special orders and payments against old invoices.
- 3Local wallets and bank transfers in the UAE and Pakistan alongside cards.
- 4A drawer that has to balance at the end of a long day.

⚠Field notes
Payments, honestly
We don't process cards
Your bank or processor does. Keep your merchant agreement; the POS records the payment.
Name custom methods clearly
Staff should see "JazzCash", not "Custom 1".
Close every register daily
Unclosed sessions make cash reports meaningless.
Check terminal batches
Match the card terminal's end-of-day batch to the register report.

Payments: questions owners ask
- Does Hardware Store POS process card payments?
- No. Cards are processed by your own bank or payment processor on their terminal. The POS records the card payment against the sale, so your reports and register balance.
- Can one sale be paid in several ways?
- Yes. Split a sale across cash, card, cheque, bank transfer, custom methods and the customer's account.
- Can I accept JazzCash or Easypaisa?
- You can add them as custom payment methods and record them at the till. The money moves through the wallet provider; the POS records the method and reference.
- What about Apple Pay in the UAE?
- Apple Pay works through your card terminal provider. The POS records it as a card or a named custom method.
- Can contractors pay old invoices at the counter?
- Yes. Record a payment on the customer account and allocate it to the due invoices.
- Can I take a deposit on a special order?
- Yes. Record an advance payment on the customer or a part payment on the sale, and collect the balance on pickup.
- Does it work with a cash drawer?
- Yes. A cash drawer connected to the receipt printer opens when a cash sale prints. See the hardware guide.
- Are there transaction fees from you?
- No. We charge the monthly plan only. Your processor charges its own card fees under your agreement with them.
